Студент колледжа Брендан Фрай - молодой калифорниец, совсем не дурак и далеко не романтик, тем не менее, преуспевать в жизни у него не получается. Связавшись с не той компанией, Эмили стремительно катится на дно: наркотики, случайные связи… Но когда она по телефону попросила у Брендана помощи, он не стал раздумывать. Обрывки фраз: "штырь", "таг", "бедный фриско" и "кирпич" – запутанный клубок... Два дня спустя девушку убивают. Брэндон начинает собственное расследование. Парень выходит на наркодиллера, обеспечивающего всех желающих. Но очень скоро понимает, что ввязался в очень темные дела! Совсем не школьные забавы. Еще бы! Ведь он увидел, что реально убивают... Теперь дело за малым – найти убийцу и отомстить за смерть любимой девушки...
