О фильме:
Устав от собственной семьи, состоящей исключительно из детей-вундеркиндов, юрист Ройал Тенебаум попросту пускается в бега. Его жена – археолог Этелин, а также дети: Чэд (в десять лет добился больших успехов в финансовой сфере), Ричи (одаренный теннисист) и Марго (в десять лет стала известным писателем-драматургом) оказываются предоставленными самим себе. Взамен Ройала в семью вливаются новые силы – муж Марго-Рэйли Сен-Клер и новый бойфренд Этелин по имени Генри. Впрочем, новая идиллия на семейном фронте нарушается возвращением блудного отца семества, который вдруг заявляет, что ему осталось жить максимум пол года, за это время Роял постарается наверстать упущенное и уделить своим детям внимание, которым они были обделены с его стороны в детстве. Но от чего у умирающего такой хитрый вид? Что задумал старый крючкотвор?
