Дополнительная информация: Пустоватая по мысли, рекламно-видеоклиповая по стилю, патриотически-сентиментальная по настроению американская лента британского режиссёра Тони Скотта (интересно, что во время съёмок его трижды отстраняли от постановки, которую первоначально предлагали… Джону Карпентеру и Дэвиду Кроненбергу!) вызвала настоящий приступ энтузиазма не только у публики в США. Этот фильм, известный у нас под всё-таки глуповатым названием «Выше крыши», превзошёл свой незначительный бюджет в размере $15 млн. почти двенадцатикратно лишь в американском прокате, а вот в мире — свыше 23,5 раз! Он до сих пор входит в сотню самых кассовых в США и, что тоже показательно, является наиболее популярным кинопроизведением о современной армии, намного опередив, помимо «армейской мелодрамы» Тейлора Хэкфорда «Офицер и джентльмен», откуда практически позаимствована сюжетная конструкция, ещё и такие боевики о «доблестных американских вояках», как «Рэмбо» II и III.
